Lucozade Monday Night Five A-Side League Report
A hat trick a piece from Ryan Marsh and John Hickling ensured Brookland stay top of the Lucozade Isotonic Premiership five a side league at Stoke Lane.
With the Killer Bees having a night off, Brookland opened up a three point gap but were made to work hard by the Unknowns who despite a brave battle look favourites for relegation with no points on the board.
Kings had a good win against Carlton’s Academy 4-2 while Gedlingberg had a thumping 5-1 win over Titco.
In the Championship Azzer’s Lads had a night off too and that allowed Carlton Youth to go top with a fantastic 11-3 win over Barcelona Reserves.
They weren’t the only team on fire; Windsor blasted 8 past FC Ballers. Ben 3, Chris 2, Shaun 2 and Aidy with one were the guys on the money.
NBN2 continue to improve and they defeated Gaz’s Parrots 4-2 to climb the table.
Games will revert back to Mondays next week after the Bank Holiday interruption.

Brookland Boys continue to confirm their status as the number one team on Monday nights at Stoke Lane.
Their 10-6 win over Brian Shepard’s Kings United produced a thrill a minute and Shepard’s side must take much credit for their attacking style of football.
In a nutshell, John Hickling was the difference between the two sides scoring seven goals and manager Aidy Moorcroft must have been delighted to have him back after he missed last weeks fixture.
Dan Moorcroft with 2 and Ryan Marsh with one got the other goals while Banno (2), Britain (2), Lucy B and Spud scored a goal a piece for Kings.
Hickling, the seven goal hero claimed that the win would have been even bigger but for some calamity goal keeping from Aidy Moorcroft who apparently threw one into his own net and twice rolled the ball out to opposition players; “He had a shocker” stated Hickling.
The Silver Fox was delighted to see his young Academy Boys put in a polished performance to defeat the Unknowns 3-1 with Jordan, Dean and Matt getting a goal a piece, Biscuit as usual replied for the Unknowns.
Gedlingberg scored a winner with the last kick of the game in an enthralling contest with Misfits, 5-4 the final score.
Titco were taken apart by Nathan Francis, it was a one man super show from Francis who scored all four goals for the Killer Bees in a 4-1 win.
Azzer’s Lads continue to dominate in the Championship although they had to work hard to overcome Windsor.
Azzer, the manager hit a brace ably assisted by O’Neill and Irish with a goal a piece in a 4-2 win, Aidan replied with a brace himself for Windsor.
Carlton Town Youth will have impressed manager Darren Chapman, they defeated Barcelona Reserves 5-2 while NBN 2 continued their improvement beating FC Ballers 3-1. Rob (1) and Nigel (2) were on the money with Larry in goal once again outstanding.
Work commitments and illness prevented Trent FM from appearing leaving tournament chief Mark Steggles no choice but to award a 5-0 to Gaz’s Parrots.
