Garton to bring back the Carlton Cup!

Carlton Town Chairman Mick Garton has announced that he will be bringing back the previously very popular Carlton Cup competition all be it with a new seven a side format on the clubs all weather pitch which can be used as either two five a side pitches or a 7/8 a side pitch Matches will be played on Tuesday and Wednesday nights during the summer with the competition set to start in May and finish at the beginning of August prior to the start of the new eleven a side season. The Carlton Cup was extremely popular and ran for many years". “I will actively seek a sponsor in the coming weeks and I would like to stress the competition is not exclusive to Carlton based sides. Anyone, providing they have not been banned from other leagues are welcome to come and take part". “There is a need for a good seven a side competition to be held on an annual basis in the Nottingham area and we have the facilities, infrastructure and referees to put this together". “At this stage, I am looking for teams to commit to the principal and we will move forward from there but I’m very excited about the idea and believe we can not just make this work, but make it an annual summer event". “Interested teams can email us at info@carltontownfc.co.uk or telephone 0115 9581735 during the daytime on weekdays or 0115 9402531 during weekday evenings”
