Another day in the life of Carlton Town and a busy and worthwhile one it proved, the day started with the EMPAL cup final and Nottingham Law School defeated division 2 champions Linford Nelson 6-0.

Carlton Chairman Mick Garton was asked to present the trophies and such was the positive response of the event, the EMPAL league have already asked to rebook the facilities for 2009 but it was the afternoons Trent FM game that will catch the headlines for all the right reasons.

The Carlton Town website can exclusively reveal that following intense rumours and press speculation, Hucknall Town have invited Carlton Town Head Coach Tommy Brookbanks for an interview with a view to him taking over the Hucknall Town managers post following the dismissal of David Lloyd But after a top level one to one meeting with Carlton Chairman Mick Garton at a Nottinghamshire hotel, Brookbanks has committed his future to Carlton Town and will lead the team into their second season in the Unibond league.

Central Midlands league in discussion

 

Senior Carlton Town Coach Gary Stones has called for a chance to the reserve set up in the local leagues. Carlton Secretary Paul Shelton recently attended a meeting at the instigation of the Central Midlands football league to discuss the feasibility of setting up a new reserve division for clubs at level six or higher for the 2008/09 season and Stones believes it is vital.
